Vacuum thermal modification with no chemicals.
Stable dimensions, fixed tone, and long service life.
For facades, decking, interiors, and saunas.

Sauna interior built entirely from thermally modified wood, combining warm tone and durability.

Facade cladding made of vacuum-treated boards, showing smooth surface and consistent color.

Light 187 °C and Dark 215 °C. Tuned precisely to your reference.
TECHNOLOGY
We produce thermally modified wood in vacuum on WDE Maspell Thermo Vacuum System equipment. The team’s background is lumber logistics. We prioritize deadlines, quality retention, and reliability.
TEAM AND CAPACITY
- Chambers: 5 × WDE Maspell TVS stainless chambers.
- Industrial control and monitoring: industrial control, monitoring with remote TOTAL VISION access and automatic batch parameter logging.
- Throughput: calculated for your species and thicknesses.
HOW WE WORK
- Sorted feedstock with confirmed grade and moisture.
- We tune the thermal cycle to the needed reference, then reproduce it.
- We issue a batch passport with key cycle parameters.
DEVELOPMENT
We run applied research with Tallinn University of Technology and build datasets by species and modes.
WHAT WE DO
- We heat wood in vacuum to 187 °C or 215 °C. The time/temperature profile is program-controlled to target properties.
- After the thermal cycle moisture is very low. We bring it to 6% by steam conditioning for easy installation.
- Volatile particles (moisture, resins, organic compounds) are removed during the process. The surface is completely clean after the cycle.
HOW VACUUM HELPS
- Even heating across the section. Sharp gradients are avoided. Batches are uniform.
- Lower internal stress. Fewer cracks during sawing, installation, and use.
- Minimal deformation. Profiles hold straightness in variable humidity.
PROCESS CONTROL AND SAFETY
- Temperature and pressure monitoring at four points. Variable-frequency fans equalize airflow.
- Condenser captures volatiles.
- Vacuum lowers oxygen to a safe level.
- Auto-wash after each cycle keeps cleanliness and batch-to-batch stability.
STANDARDS AND MEASURABILITY
We operate within the logic of European norms: EN 350-2 (classes of natural durability), CEN/TS 15679 (thermowood characteristics), EN 14298 (industrial drying quality). This simplifies specification and site acceptance.
MODES
- Light 187 °C
- Dark 215 °C
- Individual modes adjustment to client reference within a controlled range.
PRIA SUPPORT
Purchase and installation of a wood thermal processing line OSAÜHING ALFAFORT implemented a project in which a three-chamber wood thermal processing line was purchased and installed. The aim of the project was to increase the valorization of local wood raw materials and introduce resource-efficient thermal processing technology. As a result of the project, the production of thermal wood was launched, which allows the production of high-quality and weather-resistant wood material with high added value. The total cost of the project was 1,810,500 euros, of which the grant amount was 724,200 euros. The project was supported by the measure «Investment support for the valorization of bioresources 2025». The European Union co-financed the project.
